I’ve been agonizing over this way too much so I’ll just rip the bandage off: I’m halting my work on Magic fan-art.

It’s been almost 4 years since I started Inkwell Looter and I’ve had a blast. Looking back on the body of work makes me smile. I wish I could keep doing it.

To be brutally honest, I’m at a crossroads where I need to accelerate my creative career. I believe that it’s more likely to happen if I explore other avenues.

Now, with that bit of nastiness out of the way, let me make a few things clear:

1. I’m not quitting Magic. I’m not leaving the community. I’ll still be on Twitter and attacking with monsters and all of that.

2. I intend to produce even more work than before. Just not MTG-related. This pen don’t stop. All projects will be linked from my main portfolio site: jfnexus.com.

3. If you happen to know of an interesting, paying gig that’s a good fit for my arsenal of creative skills, maybe drop a line to your ol’ pal, Looter, hmm?

And, finally, I’m grateful to everyone who supported my quirky fan-art project. When I started Inkwell Looter I knew zero people in the larger MTG community yet I was immediately embraced and offered an abundance of helping hands. I have many new friends. You guys are the best.
